Creating and submitting your podcast to Spotify involves a few steps:
- Plan and create your podcast content. Decide on the format, length, and topic of your podcast, and create at least one episode.
- Choose a podcast hosting platform. This is where you will store your podcast episodes and generate an RSS feed, which is necessary for submitting your podcast to Spotify and other directories. Some popular hosting platforms include Buzzsprout, Libsyn, and Podbean.
- Record and edit your podcast episodes. You can use software like Audacity or GarageBand to record your episodes and edit them as needed.
- Publish your episodes on your hosting platform. Once you’ve recorded and edited your episodes, upload them to your hosting platform and publish them.
- Create your podcast’s artwork and metadata. Spotify requires a square cover art with a minimum resolution of 1400×1400 pixels and a maximum file size of 3000×3000 pixels, as well as a title, description, and category for your podcast.
- Get the RSS feed URL for your podcast from your hosting platform. This is the link that Spotify uses to access your episodes.
- Go to the Spotify for Podcasters website and sign in using your Spotify account. Click on the “Get Started” button and follow the on-screen instructions to submit your podcast. You will be asked to provide the RSS feed URL for your podcast, as well as some basic information about your podcast, such as its title, description, and category.
- After you’ve submitted your podcast, Spotify will review it to ensure that it meets their guidelines. This process usually takes a few days.
- Once your podcast has been approved, it will appear in Spotify, and you’ll be able to see your podcast’s stats and analytics from the Spotify for Podcasters dashboard.
It’s important to note that you need to have at least one episode before you can submit your podcast and make sure your RSS feed is properly set up and valid. Also, Spotify will not host your episodes, you have to have your episodes hosted somewhere else, like a hosting service, and use the RSS feed link to submit it to Spotify.
